Eric has always worked in the field of environmental and social organisations including nearly 20 years for the Soil Association and then for Sustrans as part of the Cycling City project. He also worked for a worker co-op (Essential Trading) and has managed teams, large budgets and projects.
For 12 years he was a trustee of Windmill Hill City Farm, including 7 years as Chair, and has been on various other management committees such as 5 years with the Southville Centre. He is involved with the Bedminster Energy Group and has helped run the Bristol Cycling Campaign since it started.
Eric has lived in an 1820's house in Southville for over 20 years and over that time has brought the energy standards up to about as high as they can go for a refit, starting with the essentials such as draft-proofing and insulation, through to external solid wall insulation. PV and solar thermal were installed in 2006 and since then he has tracked the energy use of the house every month. The house has been part of the Bristol Green Doors network since it set up and visited by hundreds of people.
